Primitive x Nike SB Lunar Rod

Paul Rodriguez & the entire Primitive Shoes & Apparel crew have been sneaker heads since day one. This dates back long before Ebay resellers, social media sites, and even most skateboard shoe companies existed. We were inspired not only by early skate culture, but also by people like Michael Jordan, Tinker Hatfield, Bo Jackson, Andre Agassi, and so many other 80′s & 90′s tastemakers. Needless to say, we’ve always had a passion for kicks outside of the skate world.

Skaters of our earlier generation are typically eclectic individuals. We don’t follow traditional style guidelines or care much for fitting in. We know what we like, and we express ourselves through a style and fashion that is not of the norm. The culmination of multiple walks of life is what Primitive Shoes & Apparel is all about. This project is a huge milestone for us, as it’s the first time we’ve been given the opportunity to develop a product that meshes our two favorite genres of footwear; running & skateboarding.

When we were green lit to color up a P-Rod 6 that sits on a Lunarlon midsole, we knew we had to come correct. We decided to incorporate Nike’s traditional Safari pattern and color story, which we feel adds aesthetic & collectible value to the collaboration. The Safari theme is no stranger to our favorite retro runners, so it just makes perfect sense.
