著名滑板比赛KING OF THE ROAD首次中国开战

滑板业内公认重量级杂志《Thrasher》的顶级滑板比赛King of the Road，首次会在美国本土以外举办，令人激动的是比赛地点最终敲定在中国！

比赛将于2011年9月19日在西安正式开战。四只中国滑板队伍：社会，Gift， Vagabond和 Shox将途经洛阳，石家庄展开一场历时１２天的中国公路滑板狂飙之旅，终点是首都北京。获胜者将赢取高达96,000人民币的奖金。作为《Thrasher》杂志的品牌合作伙伴，CONVERSE将全程赞助King of the Road中国比赛。

9月30日晚9点，即比赛最后一天，CONVERSE 联合《Thrasher》杂志在北京两个好朋友酒吧举办盛大终点派对，揭晓谁是中国最强悍的滑板队，届时邀请国际滑板界知名人物担当评审，包括《Thrasher》杂志主编Jake Phelps。这将会成为中国滑板历史的里程碑！此外由全球明星滑手组成的乐队BAD SHIT和LSDemons将大闹现场升级疯狂。全程比赛视频将于明年两月在Thrasher网站正式发布。

Thrasher Magazine and Converse are partnering-up to bring the epic King of the Road skate competition to China for the first time in the hardcore history of the event.

The madness begins September 19 and lasts for 12 righteous days as 4 Chinese skateboard teams battle for a cash bounty totaling 96,000rmb and the ultimate title of “King of the Road China.” The teams will skate, eat dirt, nail nasty tricks, laugh, cry and rip apart the pavement from Xian to Beijing. The teams represent 4 of the biggest and baddest board companies in China; People, Gift, Vagabond and Shox Skateboards.

Join the party September 30th, as we celebrate the end of the Road with a party at 2 Kolegas starting at 9pm. It will be a monster finale where a panel of international judges, including Thrasher Magazine editor-in-chief Jake Phelps, will crown the Kings of the competition. Noise for the party will be provided by bands from Trasher’s Skate Rock Tour. Stay tuned for all the huge competition footage to be released by Thrasher early next year.

About Thrasher Magazine

Thrasher Skateboard Magazine has been the unofficial Bible of skate since the magazine was founded in 1981. In 2003, Thrasher started the scavenger hunt, road trip skate adventure, King of the Road. King of the Road pits 4 insane skateboarding teams against each other, giving each squad a book of challenges and 2 weeks to tear across the country completing as many challenges as humanly possible. The challenges range from easy to damn-near-impossible. Cash prizes are awarded for great tricks, and the biggest prize of the competition is awarded to the victors of the Road.

But we’re not done. Thrasher and Converse are teaming up to devastate ears, ramps and amps throughout China with Skate Rock. Skate Rock is what happens when you mix the primal power of punk rock and the savageness of skateboarding.

Skate Rock is a music tour for skaters, featuring music by skaters. The tour will rage for 11 days through Shijiazhuang, Beijing and Wuhan starting September 27. Thrasher Magazine editor-in-chief Jake Phelps and pro skater Tony Trujillo will tear up stages as Bad Shit. LS Demons, featuring pro skaters Dustin Dolin, Don Nguyen, Richie Belton and Justin Figueroa, will destroy the rest.

Guest bands include The Subs, Rustics and SMZB from China and Tsuchinoko from Toyko. Converse pro skaters Nick Trapasso and Tom Remillard, pro skaters Omar Salazar, Grant Taylor and Raven Tershy, and skate legend Frank Gerwer will join the chaos with their boards. Skate Rock will also feature the insane artwork of the anonymous graffiti beast Neck Face.
